I have never created an account before and would like to, but: "Have we met? Your information is already associated with an account."

Hi,

After entering my phone number on sign up I get the message

“Have we met?

Your information is already associated with an account. Log in with your existing details.”

I would like to open a new account and I have never held an account before, I’m guessing my phone number was previously associated with someone else? Could someone please help?

Any chance you had an HBC account first? Have you tried reseting your password?

Nope, no HBC account for sure.

I tried resetting but I get no email. Which is why I suspect it’s my phone number that might have been previously registered.

Yeah, you probably need support. They’ll come find you here, probably tomorrow. The duplicate phone number thing comes up sometimes, telecom companies have started recycling the numbers.
