I use YNAB https://www.ynab.com/ for budgeting and all of my 6 other canadian cards and banks support Plaid data syncing. I signed up for another financial advisor mobile app and same issue, you can’t connect Neo because they use Plaid
I’m seriously considering closing my Neo account because of this. It’s been 4yrs and I’ve been waiting, assuming since Neo is new that they’d do this, but still nothing.
This is supposed to be a modern digital neo-bank, but they dont have basic data integration with 3rd party apps?
Even the Neo CSV export doesn’t map cleanly to YNAB, so I built an open source javascript library to migrate the CSV to a proper format. So it’s doubly annoying to use.
I’m also have YNAB, and I just enter my transactions manually. I have a shortcut that works well with Apple Pay so all that I have to do is “approve” the transacting on YNAB side since it pulls all the information from the shortcut.
I understand they chose Flinks probably because it’s Canadian. But the support for Flinks integration by 3rd party consumer tools is way less common in my experience. Plaid is basically everywhere.
I see other posts here about people using Monarch for budgeting and they are told use manual CSV imports instead of auto-syncing with Plaid.
We’re basically excluded from the best budgeting apps in the industry because they are American
This Apple Shortcut uses Apple Wallet’s transaction automation to automatically capture details whenever I make a purchase with Apple Pay using one of my selected cards. When a transaction occurs, Wallet passes information such as the amount, merchant, and category to the shortcut. The shortcut then uses YNAB’s built-in Add Transaction shortcut action to create a new outflow transaction in the appropriate account (in this case, my Neo Credit Card). This allows transactions to be recorded in YNAB almost immediately after purchase, and all I have to do is save it.
