Idea: automatic e-transfer deposit email

As a person who uses multiple banks and accounts, I’ve run into a few annoying problems. One of those is auto-deposit only being able to be on my main account. Since you can only connect it to one email, it makes it rather annoying.

Wealthsimple has had a fix for this that I think might be extremely useful to also implement for NEO. It allows etransfer to be a bit easier, and solve the issue with people having to search and select “NEO” in the etransfer list. Wealthsimple sets up an “email” for you to auto-deposit to. It’s been a while since I set it up, but I believe you might be able to able on creation set the email name. All of their emails end in “@wealthsimple.me” It also allows you to select which account you auto deposit into.

I’m sure it would be a lot of work on the backend to setup this this up, but I know for me, and likely others it would make things a lot easier. And avoid having to give out your real email if you need to accept money. As well as fixing the issue with people needing to select neo in the accept interface of interac. It also opens up a new use-case for people like me, where it’s so much easier to transfer money into the NEO account.

You could also just have another email address first.last.neo@whatever.com that is set up to auto deposit into neo account

Yes, I have thought of that before, but it feels like a waste to setup a whole email account just to setup auto-deposit and that’s it. That’s why I suggested the way wealthsimple has done it, so you don’t need to do that

lol
i also have several accounts at several banks
its a very easy solution, more than 1 phone number and more than 1 email
you can get free phone numbers and of course , email is almost always free

@grumpy0282 I’m not saying that just opening up a new email account isn’t an easy solution. To me it’s a tedious and annoying to have to do that multiple times, especially since I won’t use the email. I also think most other people would also appreciate an easy way of setting it up without having to do that, just like wealthsimple does it.

well the only other option is not to have auto deposit , use manual deposit and you can put it in any account you want

@grumpy0282 There is another option, wealthsimple already has something in place. It’s why I suggested the idea in the first place as I found it to be a very useful feature.

so what do they have ??

@grumpy0282 As I said in the post, they have a setup where they give you a ‘@wealthsimple.me’ email and you can auto-deposit into that. You don’t need to set anything up, it just automatically has etransfer auto-deposit setup
