I haven’t run into the problem often but there times when you need a debit and the everyday spending card is considered a credit card. And some stores charge a fee if you pay with a credit card. To switch fully to Neo and close my other bank I think having a debit card is needed. As well as cheque deposit which I know you are working towards.
I find this inconvenient when I’m getting cash back at my local corner store! They can’t do it because it’s considered a credit card so I have to email money to myself to my Cibc account which takes up one of my 50 e-transfers for the month
I have also experienced this, I kept insisting it’s a debit card and shouldn’t be charged a fee when I tried making payment for a purchase at a local store.
Yep, I’ll add my vote to this as well.
While it hasn’t been a big inconvenience for me because I still carry my debit account with TD…this is certainly a limitation for me in terms of moving more fully into Neo for my personal banking. There are many use cases for a true debit card that the current Everyday Spending card cannot satisfy.
