My rule is If there’s a sense of urgency, it’s probably a scam.

Whenever my gut says ‘wait,’ I immediately look for a second opinion. Whether that’s calling the official support line or just googling the specific wording of the message, a quick search usually confirms my suspicions. Taking that pause really does break the spell.
