I’ve been using the Neo United WE Mastercard and wanted to share my perspective.
As an existing Neo user, I already value the broader ecosystem, and this card fits into it really well. The onboarding experience was seamless, and the welcome bonus was easy to achieve within a couple of weeks (we are doing some major home reno so hitting the spending threshold was easy with these circumstances but think it’s definitely attainable under normal circumstances as well).
Although I haven’t travelled abroad and taken advantage of it, the FX reimbursement on international purchases seems like a standout feature for me — removing the typical foreign transaction fee adds real, ongoing value. The United mileage earning, flight discounts, and core benefits (lounge access, insurance, NEXUS credit) all work as expected and contribute to a strong overall package. I personally have never used NEXUS but could see how that right there would be enough value for someone who does or who wants to get into it. The discount on United flights is obviously a huge bonus but to my understanding it only comes when you pay with points. I traveled a bit within Canada recently and wasn’t able to take advantage of that since its primarily AC and WJ available, but looking forward to it when travelling to the states.
From my research, compared to other Canadian travel cards, this one feels more accessible and faster to generate value.
Overall, this has been a very positive experience and a strong addition to an already excellent Neo product suite.
