1 Month Review of the Neo United WE

For the people who don’t want to read too much into it this card is easily a solid 4.5/5 and for the people who own a Neo WE already, this becomes a 5/5, a must have combo card.

To start off, I actually did a first impression of this card a few days after I got it and it was generally very good with only a minor nitpick that I was hoping would get added, which I am very proud to say, FX fees rebate has been added for Grow members

Honestly this brought the card from a good travel card for me to probably the best one :eyes:. Haven’t been able to utilize the travel perks yet, since all my bookings were already done but the points I’ll have by the end of the year will come in very handy.

So what actually makes this the best card. Well for starters the card only has an annual fee of $89, which is nothing compared to any of the other offerings. Not only that but it also comes with a Nexus rebate which is $120 USD, I mean at that point the card is already paying for itself without you needing to almost anything. You don’t like taking United or have a specific preference for that trip? No worries points are earned as long as the flight partner is within the star alliance program. Personally, what I’d love to see is a way to transfer those points to other programs like aeroplan for example.

And if all that was not enough to convince you how good that card is, now EVERY card that you own on a Grow plan, gets FX fees rebate instantly (3% rebate). This just made Neo the best bank, as far as I’m aware there is no other banks that offers that on all the cards you own with them, you usually have to use that very specific card to get that no fx fees.

Now Neo partners, while I have been able to take advantage from it in the past sometimes, Quebec probably is not the best place for it, since where I shop usually don’t offer these rebates so this was not something beneficial for me but I do appreciate it being there for the occasional boosted cashback or points.

I probably had mentioned that before in my first impressions but that card looks amazing and feels amazing. Design team for this card did a wonderful job. Even tho I actually did all my purchases via Apple Pay, even the digital version of it looks amazing.

Now the part which for some is the most important, how much did I earn? Now technically I’d be around the 5700 points or more but I have not seen them yet on the rewards tab (for the 5000 bonus I assume I did not get it yet since I never physically used my card yet I think). Other than that most purchases points per dollar value are actually pretty good, when you consider everything else in the package. If we take an average of value per points at 1.2 cents this would mean that 5000 points is equivalent to $60.

The way I see it, this card excels at being a combo card, especially with anyone who already owns a Neo WE, this card is a no brainer to get and use for any dining or buying of your next flight tickets.

Yes some cards will offer more points at face value but when you put everything like annual fee into consideration and FX fees, the Neo united card makes up for that low base rate and easily becomes a dominant card in this current market for travel cards.

This is a phenomonal summary, my friend! Perfect for people who might be considering the card, especially if they’re in QC as well.
