So far a few things I have noticed with this Mastercard.. I don’t like the fact that if United is your option based on where you flying out off and you have other associated airlines with Star Alliance you don’t get priority boarding OR first baggage check, thats my understanding if your associated with this system (united & star alliance) why does the airlines get to pick an choose if priorty boarding/first bag doesnt come standard? Im already paying “putting on credit” for this so called privilege. doesn’t seem fair in my opinion..you get the card “pay” the annual fee and dont get some of perks unless you FLY united. Some places united doesnt go.
I noticed the rewards “milage” isn’t immediate, meaning usually when I get cash back from the NEO mastercard I can see the rewards within 1-2 min (I cant access them for roughly one day-ish) but that ok I really never had an issue with the cash back from NEO.. but Iv made several purchase in the past few days with the travel card and I get a notification for them with the same time frame as cash back but dont see them applied on NEO or on the United app… is there a huge delay?
So if there added on a monthly basis and the computer/AI makes a mistake Im to busy to go back and correct… thats my problem… nothing is perfect especially AI and honestly AI is too new to trust at all.
Hey @Sooley38, thanks for flagging this. To clear up the confusion, it’s definitely a bit of a shift if you’re used to how the standard Neo cashback works!
On the Travel Benefits side, you’re right that things like priority boarding and the free checked bag are specific to flights actually operated by United or United Express. Even if you’re flying with a Star Alliance partner, those specific perks don’t carry over. If you ever feel like something didn’t apply correctly on a United flight, your best bet is to check in with their Help Centre directly.
As for the Miles, they definitely don’t post in real-time like cashback does. They’re calculated as your transactions post throughout the month, but they only get transferred to your United MileagePlus account in a batch at the end of each calendar month. You’ll see the tally growing in your Neo app, but they won’t officially “land” in your United account until that monthly sync happens.
It’s definitely a different rhythm, but I hope that helps explain the delay you’re seeing!
