Hi there!
Curious how many of us are using Wave or other platforms for business.
Unfortunately, Neo is not on their list of banks that can accept credit card payments.
It would be great if that certificate gets approved and incorporated!
Thank you
Hey @Biohacker! Before I bring your feedback to the team, I just wanted to check - when you mentioned “accepting credit card payments,” did you mean you’re having trouble with paying using this feature?
Just want to make sure I’m understanding correctly so I can pass it along accurately.
Hi there!
Just to set up payments that my clients can do using their credit cards.
I think there is a solution to this issue - using direct deposit form and manually adding that
Hey @Biohacker! I’ll break down my reply into 2 scenarios:
Scenario 1: If you are sending out invoices:
-
PADs and Direct Deposit only work with bank accounts, not credit cards (this applies broadly, not just to Neo)
-
Credit cards can be used for recurring payments (e.g. subscriptions)
- Wave supports recurring invoicing via their Pro subscription - you can set this up in the Wave app
- Your clients choose how they want to pay: credit card or PAD
- For PADs, Wave uses Plaid, so Neo’s High interest savings account, Neo Everyday Account, or Cash accounts won’t connect, since we use Flinks
This is entirely managed within Wave and doesn’t involve Neo directly. If your clients prefer, they can just use a credit card for automatic payments.
Scenario 2: You’re receiving invoices:
If you are the one receiving invoices and they aren’t auto-paid, the sender is probably issuing them manually. In that case, you would need to pay each invoice yourself when it arrives.
Here is an article on how to setup recurring invoices, this one for payment options.
If neither of these scenarios apply, just let us know - we’re happy to take a closer look!
That said, in general, there shouldn’t be an issue paying by credit card unless the Neo card is being declined at the time of payment (which only applies in scenario 2). If your client’s credit card works fine and you are still getting manual invoices, it’s likely the person invoicing them hasn’t enabled recurring billing properly. In that case, you might want to reach out to the sender directly - or to Wave support.
If it turns out to be a card issue, we’re happy to investigate further on our side. Otherwise, for anything related to setup in Wave (like scenario 1), I would suggest you contact Wave support directly.
Don’t hesitate to reach out if you need anything else!
