Can we open multiple secured master cards? My account only shows the first one I opened and there is no option to open another one.
Hi @Mazi, thanks so much for reaching out and welcome to the community! Great questions here, and I’m happy to provide a bit of clarity:
- If you recently applied for your secured card, you might not see the option to apply for another one just yet. That’s because secured account holders become eligible to apply for an additional secured or unsecured credit product three months after opening their current account.
This waiting period is meant to give you time to build your credit history and show consistent usage, both of which can strengthen your eligibility for future credit products.
Just a heads-up, this doesn’t guarantee approval for a standard card, but it does open the door to apply!
- You can absolutely have multiple credit cards! To add to that, you can’t hold more than one of the same card type. For example, if you already have a World secured card, you wouldn’t be able to get a World unsecured card, since they’re considered the same type. That said, if you’re eligible, you’re welcome to apply for other card types available to you!
