Hello everyone, im a relatively new Neo customer. I have now had the Neo Secured Card for about 8 months. I took advantage of the Secured card to help build positive credit history. Can anyone tell how long it will take to be offered a regular non-secured card from Neo? Ive been reading about how they will offer a unsecured limit after having witnessing good spending and payment habits for roughly 6 months. Im going on 10 months and no offers. Any advice? Id really like to remain a Neo customer if possible. Thanks
That’s a question I have as well. I’ve been with Neo for almost 2 years and I still am on a secured card. I don’t think they have any set criteria to release the holds.
Ive had mine for over 2 years now. And I havent had any offers yet. Would be nice to see what is needed to get an offer.
I mean, how much credit progress have you seen? Having a secured card doesn’t equate to building credit.
Ive seen great progress. My credit score has gone up over 100 points in 8 months. The point of a secured card is to build credit and eventually get approval for an unsecured card. In my case it was a lack of credit history rather than poor credit history. There is no other reason nowadays to get a secured card. All bank cards work where you needed credit cards in the past.
If there’s no bankruptcy, you’re over 700 and you’re making payments, yeah, should be able to get an unsecured card.
