It’s a pre-paid credit card, not a debit card. They only accept debit. Maybe this was in the signup, I had no idea.
What is the point of a pre-paid credit card? Seems like the most useless card imaginable. Anyone else run into this?!

Can confirm, it is a pre-paid credit. Pre-paid cards aren’t useless, they can be used to buy some things a debit can’t, like a Netflix subscription.
