Iv never thought about this and I guess one wouldn’t potentially until you do a bit of traveling perhaps. Especially traveling through airports etc. But I wanted to turn off my swipe and tap function on my card and use pin only. But so far I don’t see a function for that? It’s appears to be that I have to turn off all ability to use the card not just the swipe or tap function alone. Maybe I’m unsure of how those scanners work that scammers/thieves put in a concealed shoulder bag etc to steal your info?
But I guess there is more than one way to do that. They can steal your info when making a purchase and stealing your pin as well. Anyone else have thoughts on this?
I do fair bit of travelling for work and it’s usually Europe and US. With that context in mind, Apple Pay on iPhone and Google pay on android are the best options to pay.
you don’t have to worry about them scanning your NFC cards or stealing your pin as it has a double layer of security through the mobile platform itself.
I carry the cards with me and just leave them at the hotel safe in case they are needed but I have never once used them.
This is an interesting idea and I personally have never thought this possible or come across it, to be able to turn off part of your functions on the card/account as I think this would be administered system wide for that credit card company, similar to the limit of tapping being at $250/$300 or whatever it is. Has anyone else encountered this option with other cards? Curious on this now.
I agree where everyone above on some work around a but, it would be nice to be able to individually turn off two and swipe and keep pin or any of the options.
