Just thought I’d share a thought/optimization that could improve the partner search experience…
When searching for partners with offers in the rewards tab, often many brands initially show up in the search results that either don’t exist after selecting them, or may have had offers in the past but now only show something like “Demand is at a record high! McDonalds is temporarily sold out of offers. Please check back soon.” McDonalds hasn’t had an offer for at least two years now.
Some examples I see today are McDonalds, Red Swan Pizza, Starbucks, Vera’s Burger, Best Buy, A&W app, Hudson’s Bay, Sobeys, Shell App, Esso, Chapters - Indigo, Crave TV, Disney+, Netflix, Apple, Apple Streaming, Staples Canada, Uber, Uber Eats, SkipTheDishes, Doordash, GAP, H&M, Knix, lululemon, Old Navy, Ray Ban.
Hi @AgentSmith, great flag on this!
I checked in with the team, and it looks like there are two main reasons why those partners are still showing up:
-
Most of the brands you mentioned are partners with our JA card, not the Neo card. They still appear for visibility so JA cardholders can access those offers. We know this can be confusing for Neo users and are looking into ways to make the experience clearer there.
-
Some customers may still have active rewards or cashback offers with those partners, even if the partnership is ending. To ensure they can still access and use those rewards, the brands remain visible for a limited time. This helps avoid disrupting the experience for customers who are in the middle of redeeming or tracking their rewards. Once all offers have expired, then the partners will be fully inactive.
Appreciate you bringing this up, it’s sparking some great conversations around how we can improve the experience!

To let customers completing their rewards even if the partnership ended is quite GOAT.
From memory I don’t know any financial institutions doing that.
