Identifying recurring payments

Canadians lose a lot of money on unwanted subscriptions, forgetting to unsubscribe from free trials or get charged NSF and overdraft fees with many subscriptions that are hard to remember.

With old school banks there is no easy way to spot recurring payments as they appear as regular payments in the transactions list, get reminders about upcoming recurring payments, block unwanted recurring payments or autostop a free trial.

I can’t think of any bank in Canada that cares about users enough to give them tools that make it easy to track, manage and unsubscribe from subscriptions, and even Neo doesn’t currently have it. But all of this is available in modern banking found outside of Canada (click to see details on how Revolut does it as an example).

Hi Paul, thanks for the feedback! We agree that subscription management is an underwhelming area of the Canadian banking landscape, and that there are cool and interesting ways to solve this pain point for customers!
