I am in the middle of planning the presentation for our next batch of community events. In the past, attendees have asked questions about how to maximize cashback — and the community has given amazing answers.
So please, share your tips! If they’re good, I will include them in our cross-country events tour!
Great context! Walmart online sends the Wholesale Mastercard code. Walmart stores send either the Grocery code OR the Wholesale code, I think it depends on what they sell the most of.
If you shop at Walmart, you need to know which code your store sends.
My main tip is to just be aware of what counts, and what doesn’t, and maximize the ones that do count. For example, I have to pay a small fee for my water/garbage pick-up monthly bill to pay by credit card, but the small fee is still way less then the 5% cashback.
I can speak from experience and I will share one way I maximize my cashback rewards.
In particular, the NEO Elite MC has a section on the app available for extra rewards. For example, purchases made at some merchants will you give you a higher percentage cash back that is pretty much unheard of. I have attached screenshots shots of what shows on my app to make sense of it. Let me know if this helps.
Most work like you’d expected, from what I can see. Walmart is weird. Costco is never considered grocery, although the actual Costco card is (arguably) bad at Costco anyway, so you don’t have a ton of options.
If you like Costco, you can use their Instacart and get 5% back, I’ve heard users do that.
