$5 Secured Credit Fee

Wow. You know what I really wanted from Neo. Out of all things in the entire world?

A monthly newsletter and a $5 monthly fee on my card!

Right guys! I’m sure this is what you all wanted!

Who is making these dumb decisions? Why do I have to pay more for some shit I didn’t even ask for? Fire these Ghostwriters, cancel this newsletter, and just and reverse this $5 monthly fee.

Yep, $5 monthly fee is exactly what I expect from a neo bank nowadays.
I would have cancelled it in August if I read through the full letter with thumbnail “Canada’s Best Secured Credit Card is about to get even better”, but I didn’t. So was charged money for a secured card, lol. For letting them use my own money without any interest. Thats crazy even for an old big 5 bank. I was suggesting Neo to a lot of my friends because of their nice app and reasonable prices. Now I told everyone to check their accounts for a new fee and close their cards because of this ridiculous update.

Goodbye, Neo

This is news to me. When did/does this happen?

This $5 fee for secured credit that I’m putting my own money into is ridiculous. Why does NEO have this fee to begin with? Seems to me that Neo will lose a lot of customers because of this as it’s unfair, totally unacceptable and definitely not needed. Though I’m new to NEO and still learning things, I’m slow start to regret joining the Neo family, however, I will stay with it until I see improvements on credit score and once I do, I’ll leave as some have already or will be in the near future. Also may I add, NEO shouldn’t be charge their customers fees for perks either.

I totally get where you’re coming from. fees can be frustrating. The $5 fee helps us keep offering perks like cashback, credit reporting to both major bureaus, and the in app experience, but I hear you and really appreciate your feedback.

We’re always looking at ways to improve, but thanks for sticking with us while you build your credit

Even cash backs are being capped so then what’s the point of offering customers cash back etc, when Neo will cap it? Makes so sense to me.
