24 Card Lock - no notification

Good day! Not really a support topic but something I encountered and migh help others?

I attempted an online purchase with my Mastercard, and entered the CVC incorrectly - twice. Totally my bad. However the card is now being declined. After speaking with support, entering an incorrect CVC 2 times freezes the card automatically for 24 hours.

There is no notification in the app or indication there is any type of hold on the card. This would be nice to have indicated in the app.

Agreed. It would be nice to get a notice that the card is suspended at anytime for any reason.

The lock is meant as a security safeguard against card-guessing, but I can see how frustrating it would be from a simple typo. You’re absolutely right that a clearer “frozen” indicator or push notification would make things much less confusing at checkout. I’ll be passing this feedback along to our product team as we continue improving transparency around declined transactions.
Have you tried using the Neo Virtual Card for your online shopping? It has its own CVC, so if you ever run into a lockout on your physical card again, you can usually keep going with the virtual one while the other cools down for 24 hours.
