Funnel innovation: Sharing stuff from the Neo app to social media and DM, Duolingo-style

With 575 million registered users and 113 million monthly active users, Duolingo can be a great company to learn from.

One feature that I like is ability to easily share stuff to social media. The insight here is that people are social creatures and like to tell their friends about their achievements. In this case, hitting a milestone is accompanied by a share button that activates easy, one tap sharing into the social media feed of your choice.

Users can share things to social media, or send them to friends using their preferred messenger app.

Duolingo makes content creation easy. It works beautifully thanks to great-looking predesigned templates, as users can just click and post without having to design anything themselves.

What are some of the things that Neo users might want to share on social? I don’t know, but this can be tested. Here are some ideas:

β€’ Any achievements specifically designed for that purpose (monobank-style);
β€’ Any milestones or life events (e.g. improving credit score, getting prequalified for a mortgage, buying a house etc);
β€’ Any deals from the rewards network that users like;
β€’ Referral links;
β€’ Any content (e.g. podcasts, news articles, videos etc);

Do people want to share their credit score? I don’t know, but they might be interested in sharing content on financial literacy.

Neo has created a lot of great beautiful content, but it has barely any views. This is not surprising, given that the YouTube channel only has 900 subscribers.

To really leverage the user base, there can be some in-app content that is tailored to the interest of users based on data. For example, users with low credit score can get some financial literacy content on how to improve it or whatever is relevant and the ability to share it to their social feeds or DM to their friends.
