# \#010 Requesting lower credit limit

I know this is not nearly as common as requesting a credit limit increase, but most if not all banks have some kind of way to ask for a lower credit limit. This usually requires contacting customer support, but there can probably be a self-service option that eliminates the need to contact support for that.

Hi, I’d like to request a lower credit limit, but chatting gives the answer “At the moment, you can’t request a lower credit limit for a Neo credit card (and you can’t lower it yourself in the app)”.

Why not? And will you make it possible soon?

Hey @J_B, thanks for flagging this! You can definitely request a lower credit limit. You’ll just need to reach out to Support to make the request. It’s usually processed pretty quickly as long as your current balance is below the new limit you’d like to set.
